Job Title: Head of Information Technology – Standard Chartered Modaraba
Grade: Grade: 7
DIRECT REPORTS: Technical Analyst
Add value through IT to strategic direction, planning, budgeting and performance of the business in support of Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. Drive the SCM business agenda – viz. technology projects, system enhancements, problem resolutions etc. Ascertain smooth and continuous running of SCM system including Applications, Procedures, Processes and People. Accountable for the technology service delivery – covering financials, risks, projects and BAU service management in the organization. The organization technology manager ensures – cost efficiency to meet budget targets, effective risk mitigation, co-ordinates / in some cases leads country roadmaps and continuous service improvement through strong organization and group engagement.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

JOB Scope
Drive the SCM business agenda – viz. technology projects, system enhancements, problem resolutions etc. Add value through IT to strategic direction, planning, budgeting and performance of the business in support of Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer. Identify and recommend technology updates that will add value to the organization in terms of capability, performance and cost. Develop influential and trustworthy working relationship with other technology and business peer to communicate and achieve performance objective. -Value – add to various technologies streaming by timely and proper engagement and recommending appropriate solutions e.g. recommending enhancements, tuning, up gradation of system. Participate in Steering Committee, BORG, CORG meetings and/or working groups of major projects. Follow the transition process and manage production readiness of significant development.
Operations / System Support, Problem & Change Management
Manage the system setups of the SCM core system .i.e. Lease Management and Certificate of Musharika System and User Profiles (individually and by groups) for testing (and eventually copy to production), for access, input, approval, overrides and segregation of duties purposes.
Provide operation support to all SCM functions through resolving their queries and fulfilling MIS needs on ad-hoc basis. Ensure for timely support provided to the users for the application installed in Modaraba.
Ensure that high severity incidents/issues are resolved promptly by coordinating with SCB IT and ITSC. Perform root cause analysis for all high severity incidents and preventative actions are defined and implemented. Provide quality input into the post mortem process to enable IT deliver quality post mortems.
Process all RMS//VMS and Change requests in Remedy in timely manner and progress follow up for their timely implementation.
Compliance with IT Group Standards, SLAs & Audit Management.
Understand and ensure compliance with the SCBPL processes, standards, guidelines and project management frame work. Strict compliance of Group Standards in operations and self updated in due course.
Manage SLAs with SCBPL IT vendors to obtain high quality service for all business units of SCM. Be the central point of contact for any technology/systems Audits surrounding to ensure auditors are facilitated well and are satisfied.
Liaise with Internal and External Auditors for IT Audit preparation and the subsequent review for observation closure and future compliance. Comply with all IT Asset Management audit requirement.

Qualifications and Skills

Graduate / Masters in IS disciplines
8-10 years post qualification hands on experience in the areas of (i) IT Management (ii) IT Risk Management (iii) Systems Support (iv) Change Management (v) Software Development and (vi) System Administration, preferably in Financial Sector of large no of networked users with Windows based ORACLE / SQL environment.
Conversant with;
IT Management Techniques, IT & Operational Risk Management Methodology, System Development Methodology, System Administration tasks, and Database Administration, etc.
Basic practitioner to assume responsibility and listening to others. The ability to build strong working relationships at all levels within the organisation.
Ability to influence both business and technology in a constructive, fact driven way. Capacity to work under own initiative and under pressure, to deliver high quality work to tight deadline.
Ability to set goals, priorities and objectives.
Proven planning & problem solving.
