The National Transmission & Despatch Company (NTDC) owns and operates the high voltage transmission system in the country. The company employs a staff of over nine thousand that is engaged in managing the transmission network that extends into all the provinces of the country and AJK.
Consistent with the objectives of the Government to reform the power sector and to eliminate load shedding in the shortest possible time frame, the Board of Directors of the company has initiated action plans to transform the company into a dynamic corporate entity that can meet the emerging challenges in the power sector in the country. These include improving system reliability, extending the network to acquire power from new generation and to import power from neighboring countries, and instituting a range of reforms in all the functional areas of the company. Specific initiatives in hand include preparation of strategic business plans, rationalization of organizational structures, introduction of performance based compensation, system performance audits, and integration of ERP system in operations.
The Change Management and HR Advisor will work directly with the Board of Directors and will assist the Board in coordination and communication with the management and the consultants for implementation of reforms and change management. Specific responsibilities of the Advisor will include advising the Board on requirements and strategies for change management and HR reforms, preparing high level plans for implementation of reforms, and critical evaluation of the performance of the management and consultants in implementation.
• The ideal candidate would have experience of twenty years in the industry at senior levels successfully leading and performing change management and HR functions in large corporations that have established, recognized, and demonstrated track record in HR systems and are considered industry leaders in HR. The candidate should be fully familiar with the best practices in the industry in change management.
• The candidate should not be more than 60 years of age on the date of this advertisement. A Master’s degree in HR or Business Administration, or a professional certification in accounting would be desirable.
The assignment will be on contract for a three years period, extendable on a yearly basis with mutual consent. A market based competitive package will be offered commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
