IBM: This role is responsible for supporting procurement activities such as business operations, policies and practices, global compliance, client services bid management, supplier contract development and negotiation in support of complex services engagements, and client services geo management. Responsibilities may include interfacing and supporting IBM’s country, regional and/or worldwide procurement teams and processes and supporting IBM strategic supply issues.The employee focuses on individual/team/department/ operational objectives.
A person in this role is responsible to support IBM internal and external requirements for Technical & Business Services Subcontracting, Software/IT Sourcing and Support Services by selecting core and/or leveraged suppliers that provide optimal cost, quality and delivery.
Analyze Supplier Cost Structure. Understand the cost elements in supplier prices. Benchmark unique supplier costs/prices and/or associated royalties. Negotiate competitive costs/prices.
Perform Industry & Competitive Analysis Understand variety of analytical approaches to determine how well positioned a company is to compete in the marketplace. Articulate and combine both internal/external perspectives of the customer’s competitive position. Understand the customer’s environment including their industry structure, value chains, basis of competition. Identify how forces within the industry and external to the industry can acts as either constraints or influences on entry barriers, value chain dependencies, inter-enterprise relationships, and blurred or shifting industry boundaries.
Perform Supplier Analysis Understand business analysis reports such as Dun and Bradstreet (D&B).Apply information that conveys important factors that impact supplier performance and assess the risk of doing business with a supplier.
Perform Value Add Analysis Perform analysis of supplier product(s), technology, capabilities and competitive market position. Perform and present fair value analysis using accepted value determination techniques. Evaluate and provide team analysis.
Apply Policies/Practices/Legal Principles. Understand and apply appropriate IBM and Procurement procedures and guidelines. Maintain satisfactory control posture.
Apply Procurement Processes and Tools. Apply appropriate IBM and Procurement procedures, guidelines and core values as outlined in IBM Global Procurement Process. Maintain satisfactory control posture. Understand and apply knowledge of procurement strategy and process such as request for quote (RFQ) and use the tools that support the end to end purchasing process.
Apply Project Management Organize, initiate, plan, track and manage projects. Recognize and analyze problems, risks and issues. Apply change management techniques. Understand dependencies. Identify, assess, evaluate and document risk factors and changes. Assure projects are completed within schedule and cost objectives. Manage key milestones at local level.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 3 years experience in Procurement / Sourcing
- English: Intermediate
- Master’s Degree in Information Technology
- At least 5 years experience in Procurement / Sourcing
- English : Fluent
