State Bank of Pakistan, the Central Bank of the country, has undertaken various initiatives to renew build and strengthen its institutional capacity Through a major change and capacity building program. To ensure smooth functioning of its External Relations Department and to provide strategic direction, SBP is looking for high caliber and dynamic professionals interested in a stable but exciting career and willing to make a difference through excellence. All positions are Karachi based.
Director / Head (Chief Spokesman)
The incumbent would be responsible including but not limited to.
Build/ project SBP’s corporate identity as an autonomous, modern, dynamic and highly professional Central Bank. Oversee the press releases reports, flow of information & interact with print. Electronic media/other external stakeholders. Keep fully abreast the management with the latest developments taking place related to the areas of the Bank. Promote SBP as a reliable resource base for financial and economic data dissemination. Manage timely editing/printing/distribution of all publications including the Annual and Quarterly Reports etc. Generate communications to maintain SBP’s positive image in the case of an unforeseen issue, crisis or other potentially problematic situation.
• Manage & implement Departmental Business Plan in a well coordinated and efficient manner.
This is a senior management position requires superior skills in Communication, Coordination, Information Dissemination and Management coupled with an excellent networking in botri the print and electronic media. Further, the ideal candidate should be well versed and updated in economic developments besides operational & policy areas of Financial institutions.
This is a middle management position and the incumbent would be responsible including but not limited to:
• Ensure media coverage of Bank’s important events and senior management’s interviews with electronic media on different issues in close coordination with Director.
Ensure publication of Urdu/English articles on economy/ banking in different newspapers.
Drafting/editing and Urdu translation of press releases/circulars /articles and its coverage in electronic/ print media.
Ensure timely publication of Bank’s advertisements in focal/foreign media
Submit daily reports to Director-ERD based on information on local/ foreign news media.
Write editorials/edit articles for In-house journal.
· Master degree or equivalent in Mass Communication/Journalism, Business Administration, Economics,
Finance or a related discipline from HEC recognized University.
· For Director/Head maximum 50 and Divisional Head maximum 45 years. Relaxation may be allowed in case of highly qualified and more experienced candidates.
· Candidate of Director/Head must have at least 13 years of journalistic/media relations and management experience.
· Candidate of Divisional Head must have at least 08 years of journalistic/media relations and management
Experience preferably 05 years in supervisory capacity.
· Relaxation may be allowed for candidates having versatile experience or higher qualification.
Market based negotiable salary package within approved salary scale commensurate with the
experience and qualifications of the candidate.
