Advertised Summary Job Description

Reporting to the Division Administrator and the Division Chief of Molecular Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics, will provide administrative support for the Divisions of Molecular Genetics, Clinical Genetics and the Diabetes Research Center. Provide a full range of administrative support to the divisions: maintain clerical supplies and office equipment, assist lab personnel in purchasing, order supplies, process invoices for payment, make travel arrangements, distribute petty cash. Assist in coordinating meetings, special events and projects. Assist with preparation of grants, manuscripts and scientific presentations, and personnel activities in the divisions, answer phones, filing. Other duties as assigned. Manage Division Chief’s calendar and coordinate all meetings, manuscript submissions, and letters. Find and distribute journal articles as needed and requested.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training and experience. Excellent technical/computer skills. Proficiency with Windows based Microsoft Word, Excel and e-mail/calendar programs.

Ability to undertake multiple tasks, set priorities, work independently and meet deadlines. Must be a highly organized self-starter with the ability to work under minimum supervision. Requires solid organization and communication skills, both oral & written.Candidate must be a quick learner and willing to go the extra mile to do what is asked.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ARC highly preferred
